A Giant Octopus at Fossil Creek ... OK, It Is a Squid

octopus mural

As a cross training for paddling I enjoy biking and inline skating. I started skating in August 2005 in preparation for the 40 mile highway portage during WaterTribe Ultimate Florida Challenge.

Naturally, I always carry a camera with me. It is Pentax Optio W10, although, I started recently to carry my DSLR camera with a tripod on a bike.

The above picture of a giant octopus on a concrete wall was shot at sunset with the Pentax camera during my inline skating workout. You can find this mural in Fort Collins at the Fossil Creek bike trail where the trail goes under College Avenue. This is a new trail built this summer and, now, I can start skating on bike trails almost directly from my house.

I still need to figure out how to shoot the octopus together with the creek flowing behind that wall.

Well, my octopus appeared to be in fact a squid, also known as calamari, especially, in its fried variety. These creatures are not so common here in Colorado. Concerning sea food Colorado is more known for oysters. Rocky Mountain Oysters.
