Tue - October 31, 2006Entering the Season of Winter Paddling - Douglas Lake
My last paddling in October took place on the Douglas Lake. It was chilly evening with a cold north wind. Heavy snow clouds over the mountains. Ice on the deck. I had to use gloves for the first time this fall. It felt like I started my winter paddling season, but I am sure I will still have some warm days for paddling. I shot only a couple of pictures with my Pentax Optio W10 before launching. Sisson Nucleus kayak is posing above on a nicely shaped sandbar. I also brought my Canon D10 and a tripod hoping for some nice shots after sunset like I had a chance to take after my paddling in early September. However, the weather was really not inviting for playing with a camera. The paddling workout was good despite of nasty conditions. |
