Driftwood on South Platte River - Paddling between Platteville and Milliken

South Platte River Colorado

A driftwood stacked on a diversion dam. The picture was shot on South Platte River above Milliken (Union Ditch Dam) with Canon EOS D10. I believe that you can see that tree on a satellite image: the bigger one near left bank.

It was my Friday afternoon paddling workout. I launched my Sisson Nucleus kayak at highway 60 near Milliken. I paddled about 3 miles upstream and turned back just before sunset. Many ducks, some whitetail deer, no hunters. I had a short photo session at the dam, 0.7 miles upstream from my start.
