Training for My First Texas Water Safari on the Gunnison River in Colorado

Gunnison River below Bridgeport, CO

Gunnison River below Bridgeport, CO In the spring of 2002 I was doing a lot of river runs with Spencer X-treme canoe in preparation for my first Texas Water Safari. During the weekend of April 14-15 I paddled the Gunnison River in southwestern Colorado. Actually, I managed to do two overlapping runs: from Delta to Bridgeport, and again from Delta to Redlands near Grand Junction. You can find my detailed photo report from this paddling together with the river mileage at Mountain Wayfarer.

It was also my first season with a digital camera, Canon PowerShot S40. These two pictures were shot on the Gunnison River below Bridgeport.
