Boyd Lake Sunset - Shooting Pictures from the Water Surface

 kayak paddling Boyd Lake

Judging from comments I received and a discussion on padlding.net this picture (#3) is most favorite from my 6 Sunset Pictures from 10 Minutes of Paddling on the Boyd Lake. It was shot holding the camera, Pentax Optio W10, at water level in fully extended left arm. I did not do it in this case but I should use 2 second self timer to avoid shaking the camera.

It is my favorite picture too. My second choice would be the first vertical shot.

The above image and all vertical pictures as well vertical ones in my recent posts from Horsetooth Reservoir and South Platte River were shot without a chance to see the LCD monitor in my camera. The shooting angle from the water surface was just too low. Of course, an optical viewfinder will also be useless in this situation. I was just just shooting multiple frames checking the result on the LCD display after each or after a couple of shots.
