Sunset Paddling Workout with Sisson Nucleus Kayak

Colorado sunset kayaking

For the last 9 months I have paddled almost exclusively Thunderbolt-x kayak including all races: Wyoming Outback Challenge on the North Platte River, Kansas River "Fitty Gritty", Missouri River 340 and Colorado River race in Glenwood Canyon. In the end of summer I am trying some other boats from my paddling fleet.

The above pictures was shot at sunset on the Beaver Pond near Fort Collins when paddling Sisson Nucleus kayak. I forgot my Garmin Edge 305 GPS, so it ended up as a purely just for fun paddling and a sunset photo session. Nevertheless, I am going to enter the Nucleus into the virtual race to see whether my better performance in the Thunderbolt kayak is due to a faster boat design or if I am (hopefully) in a better paddling shape.

Photo tip: If the sunset doesn't look too exciting look at the water around you. Reflections of sky and clouds in water or even in the deck of your kayak may provide some interesting photo subject.
