Bows, Sterns and Rudders of Moliceiro Boats from Aveiro, Portugal



The last week of September I spent at Aveiro, Portugal, attending the conference on air pollution modeling. I had time for photography every morning and in the most of evenings. Moliceiros, gondola-like, colorfully painted boats dominated my photo sessions. I was walking or biking along canals neglecting architecture in the town.

My Photo Gear for the Travel to Europe

The pictures presented above were all shot with my old Canon EOS 10D camera mounted in most cases on the Gitzo Mountaineer tripod. I was using mostly Canon 70~200 f/2.8L IS (that thing is heavy!!!) and Canon 20-35 f/3.5 wide angle lenses. I was carrying this set in LowePro Toploader 75 AW bag when shooting in town.

For travel, I was packing all my photo gear (one more lens) together with a laptop into the carry-on Lowepro Stealth Reporter 650 AW Camera Bag except tripod and monopod which travelled in check-in luggage.

I also had my Pentax Optio W10 with me and shot many pictures with that camera.
