Sea Wind, the Icebreaker - Paddling Video Clip from Northern Colorado

SEA WIND
the Icebreaker

In December I paddled only on South Platte River since everything around Fort Collins was frozen. January brought some warmer weather and I started to visit Beaver Pond in Arapaho Bend Natural Area again. 01/07/2006 - 60% of the pond ice free. 01/09/2006 - 80% of the pond ice free. 01/11/2006 - 10% of the pond ice free.

In my last paddling I found only some small areas along shores open. Fortunately, the ice was still thin and my Sea Wind worked as an icebreaker. I shot a short video clip with Pentax Optio WP mounted on the deck with the aid of a sticky pod - a mini pod with suction cups.

I am afraid that after last night the ice is too thick even for the Sea Wind.

The quality of my video from Pentax Optio WP doesn't look very impressive, even clips downloaded directly from the camera look worse than the clips shot by Chief with the Pentax Optio WPi during his Dry Tortugas challenge. The truth is that I didn't have good light during my paddling, but I wonder if there are any improvements between WP and WPi in video quality despite of that the technical specifications look the same.
