The picture above shows the North Eltuck Cove at the northern part of Horsetooth Reservoir. I use this spot to launch my boats from the Lory State Park. The original picture was a little bit altered in Photoshop using a dry brush filter.
On March 30, 2007, I shot some video footage when carrying my Thunderbolt-X kayak to the water and starting to paddle. The camera, Pentax Optio W10, was mounted on the kayak stern with a sticky pod camera mount - a suction cup with a knuckle and no extensions. I did not use any other camera position at that time except the "diving" part. The resulting video clip is 1:16 minute long.
Two years ago, on March 25, 2005, I paddled Sea Wind canoe on the Horsetooth starting from the same location at the Eltuck Cove. It was quite a lot of snow at that time and I was shooting my video clip Colorado Winter Paddling. At that time I could use another way to transport my boat to the water.
