GPS Photo River Paddling Map and Guide to the South Platte Below Denver

I have just updated my GPS/photo river guide to the South Platte in northern Colorado. It covers now 30+ miles of the river from Wildcat on the St Vrain River (1.2 mile above confluence with the South Platte) to Kuner. It is all easy class I river suitable for beginners, which can also be paddled upstream by stronger or motivated paddlers.

South Platte River Map and Guide

I am providing information about river mileage, access points and dam portages together with some pictures and links to trip reports and flow data. All distances are measured during my paddling trips and workouts by GPS, but are nevertheless approximate. The river is changing all time and, also, your course differs from run to run. My GPS readings for upstream paddling are always a little longer than for the same segment paddled down the river.

I am going to extend it to the river segments above Fort Lupton and below Kuner down to the Cooper Bridge below Fort Morgan. Canoe Colorado covers the class II and II+ from segments of the South Platte in Denver (C470 to Florida Avenue) as well as the easy class I segment from Brighton to Fort Lupton. Boulder Outdoor Center also provides description of two river segments below Denver: Highway 76 Commerce City to Brighton and Brighton to Fort Lupton.

I would appreciate any comments and suggestions to the South Platte guide as well as to this particular format of presenting the river description. What other information would you like to see?
