Frog Podcast from Colorado Foothills

Boedecker Reservoir Loveland Colorado

Early May. Boedecker Reservoir near Loveland. A quiet night after paddling. The mountains silhouette is still visible across the lake. And, suddenly, it is not quiet any more. Frogs are starting their broadcast in the ditch running nearby.

It is already the middle of September. My window is half open and I can hear a very similar concerto in the field behind my backyard, but given by crickets.

Occasionally, I am recording different sounds of nature to be used in my video clips. That night at the Boedecker Reservoir I used Canon Optura Xi camcorder with an attached microphone.

I have never used my Pentax Optio W10 for any recording except a typical wind noise and paddle knocking during paddling. It is worth to remember that this camera allows you to record voice messages and even to attach audio to pictures. Have you tried that feature with your Pentax Optio?

I wonder if the embedded audio player is working OK in different web browsers. It does not show up in my RSS feed. Here is the direct link to Colorado frogs wav file.
