Review of Waterproof Olympus Stylus 720 SW Camera by a Whitewater Kayaker

Olympus Stylus SW 720 Waterproof cameras from Pentax Optio W-line are quite popular among paddlers, but Olympus cameras also have their fans. Bruce Thomas reviewed the Olympus Stylus SW 720 camera in BRT Insights - Whitewater Kayaking. You can see many pictures from whitewater trips shot with this camera in his blog.
Great for photography of whitewater river trips ... It is incredibly difficult to get good pictures while paddling a kayak down a whitewater river. After using this camera on a handful of river trips I'm pretty happy with the pictures that the Olympus 720sw waterproof camera produces. After getting the boat into a relatively stable spot I'm able to quickly get out the camera and get photos of others kayaking through a whitewater rapid or surfing at a playspot on the river. Then I can quickly slip the camera inside my pfd and paddle out to rejoin the action. (**** - my rating - very good - 4 stars out of 5).
A new updated waterproof model from Olympus, Stylus 770 SW, is currently available, but you can buy the older Stylus SW 720 at much better price.
