see Canon EOS 40D at Amazon

The focus of Paddling with a Camera blog is on compact waterproof digital cameras like my Pentax Optio W10. I simply always carry this camera when paddling or racing. However, I am also shooting with a DSLR camera, Canon EOS 10D. I am not packing my Canon to the low volume Thunderbolt kayak, but, usually, I take it to my Sea Wind canoe together with a tripod.
The above picture was shot before sunrise near Sanibel Island bridge in March of 2006 during the WaterTribe Ultimate Florida Challenge. I was very proud that I forced myself to unpack the camera and tripod after the entire night of paddling.
My Canon 10D is quite outdated and is time to think about upgrade. I will probably stay with the same line of Canon cameras.
