It is where I bought my annual pass a couple of weeks ago. Nice area! These two ladies swimming in wet suits came to this beach on bikes.

Well, I just didn't have handy any picture from national parks in my vicinity. I would have to dig in my archives quite deeply like to my 2001 trip to Lake Powell and Canyonlands.

You show a picture of San Francisco' Aquatic Park under National Parks nd Recreation Areas. yes, it is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, but it does not have any sort of access fee (besides parking, should you park at a meter or in a lot - but these are not part of the Recreation Area). The only thing they charge for in this area is if you want to board the historic ships which you can see in the background, and I guess a National Parks pass would get you on them for free.

That is one of the most common place I launch from, as I live 8 blocks away - I can wheel my boat down from home. http://peter-singlespeed.blogspot.com/2008/05/car-free-kayak-trip.html
